It will be the worst situation to be in if you did great in a job interview but fail to get the job by not sending a thank you letter. You must send a thank you letter after all interview. You can send an email if it is a telephonic interview. If you attend a face to face interview, make certain you post a thank you letter. This is a biggest opportunity to stand out among other candidates. Don’t forget that the biggest hurdle between you and the job is the overloaded recruiting manager. The recruiting or hiring manager doesn’t remember all the candidates they have interviewed.
I recommend you to thank the hiring manager twice. First, by leaving a handwritten thank-you note with receptionist immediately after the meeting. The quick hand written note also demonstrate that your writing skills. You can send the second letter two to three days after two days. The second letter can list details about the meeting and write certain portions of the discuss and reinforce challenges discussed during the interview.
